SU Gender Equality

Hello! My name is Gill Carter and I will be the SU Gender Equality Officer for the coming year of 2011-2012. I am currently 21 and going into my third year of International Development and Food Policy. I have been involved in other areas of University life such as Peer Support, Student Ambassador and in various roles in Societies.

ally tackle, question and discuss gender biased and/or prejudicial issues affecting us, UCC students. The issue of gender affects us all, and poses some considerable issues to confront such as equal opportunities in the workplace, participation in politics, access and use of mental health institutions and much more. This year, I plan on continuing the great work already done before me and hopefully, progressing further. I plan on campus campaigns, workshops, talks and involvement in the media.

I am eager to make this an effective and successful year, to do this I would love to hear from you, whether be it concerning an idea for a campaign, an issue concerning gender equality which has you ticked off or just to get on board and get involved in the work and campaigns throughout the year.
